The chicken sandwich chain celebrated the grand opening of its newest restaurant, located in Farmingville’s Expressway Plaza at 2280 North Ocean Avenue, on Thursday, Oct. 17.

It marks Chick-fil-A’s ninth location on Long Island.

The new restaurant is expected to bring approximately 115 full- and part-time jobs and will be locally owned and operated through a franchise model, the company said.

It will be open for dine-in and drive-thru, and will also offer a “Mobile Thru,” a fully dedicated lane in the drive-thru where customers can pick up orders placed ahead of time on the Chick-fil-A app.

Chick-fil-A was founded in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1967 by S. Truett Cathy, a devout Southern Baptist. The restaurant chain is famously closed on Sundays.

Among its most popular items is the original chicken sandwich, featuring a seasoned, boneless chicken breast that's breaded, deep-fried, and served on a toasted bun with dill pickle chips.

Customers can also choose from a number of other sandwiches, nuggets, salads, breakfast items, and milkshakes.

Chick-fil-A operates nearly 3,000 locations across the United States, including 54 in New York.

Its Farmingville restaurant is open Monday through Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Find out more on its website.
